Presentation

On the northern coast of the St. Lawrence, lies a diamond in the rough. The Mingan Archipelago, a National Park reserve, is a photographer’s dream that the crowds have not yet discovered. This remarkable land is carved out of the limestone bedrock and is the site of spectacular natural monuments and there are photographic opportunities around every corner. There is an abundance of life in this unique environment: plants of various colours and shapes, seabirds gathered in colonies, seals, dolphins and whales all inhabit this treasured region.

The Mingan Islands are one of the St Laurence River’s crown jewels. The area is home to an array of puffins, guillemots, razorbills, gulls and seals. Fin whales, mink whales and blue whales can be seen passing by this amazing place. This is the home of the iconic clown of the sea–the puffin, a dream come true for nature and bird photographers. Our backdrop is the sea, limestone cliffs and historic lighthouses.

This workshop will give you the opportunity to photograph some of the hundreds of puffins both on the ground and in flight. Fred looks forward to returning to this special place and is excited to offer you the opportunity to photograph these magnificent birds. He will guide you to prime locations in which to photograph these birds, away from crowds where you will blend in with the environment and capture spectacular images.

Fred will be on hand at all times to give you as much (or as little) help as you need. All levels of photographer are very welcome on this workshop. This workshop is a bird photographer’s dream.
